Some, by living in different parts of the world, acquire proficiency in many languages. Kriti, an Indian young woman living in Japan, showed her language prowess as she posted a video on her Instagram account in which she spoke as many as six languages.
Kriti, a content creator who posts videos of living in Japan and showcasing Japanese culture, began by speaking Hindi. “Namaste, mera naam Kriti hai (Hello, my name is Kriti),” she said. Then she spoke in Bengali, Assamese, Korean and Japanese before finally saying “thank you so much guys, I love you” in English. “Multilingual Indian girl,” she captioned the video.

“I didn’t understand anything but it felt good to hear,” a user commented, loosely translated from Hindi. “Saranghae … So perfectly said Bengali & other languages also,” another said. “I understood everything except Korean and Japanese,” another netizen posted.
Recently, a wholesome video of two non-Indians—South Korean content creator Dasom Her and a Bhutanese citizen—fluently conversing in Bengali went viral.
The Bhutanese man, who is from Phuntsholing, says that he picked up the language from his guests. It appears that he works in the hospitality industry. In the video shared on Friday, Dasom Her says that they both speak fluent Bengali but are not Bengalis.
