
Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Kazan, Russia, on Tuesday, to attend the 16th BRICS Summit that began on October 22 and will conclude on October 24. On his arrival at the hotel, PM Modi received a grand welcome with beats of dhols and a large gathering from the Indian diaspora in Russia.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnesses a dance performance by the artists of the Russian community at Hotel Korston in Kazan. He is here to attend the 16th BRICS Summit, being held under the Chairmanship of Russia. The Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member countries,” ANI wrote on X.

Many social media users reacted to the video, amassing over 5,07,000 views. “This is so good to see,” a user wrote. Another user thanked the Russian nationals for giving a “warm and amazing” welcome to PM Modi.
During the summit, PM Modi held bilateral meetings with his counterparts from BRICS member nations and other leaders.
BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa. In January this year, BRICS announced four new members, Ethiopia, Iran, and the United Arab Emirates. The first BRIC Summit took place in Yekaterinburg, Russia, in 2009. It was decided to include South Africa at the BRIC Foreign Ministers’ meeting in New York in 2010. South Africa attended the 3rd BRICS Summit in Sanya, China, in 2011.
