Donald Trump is making headlines once again – this time for his whirlwind Middle East tour during his second term as President of the United States of America. On the second leg of his three-nation visit, Trump touched down in Qatar, where a display of royal opulence quickly turned into Internet gold.

After a grand welcome ceremony, Trump was escorted to Al Wajba Palace, the official residence of Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani. True to form, Trump didn’t miss the chance to make his mark. While touring the lavish interiors, he exclaimed, “Nice house!” The remark instantly went viral after his communications advisor, Margo Martin, posted a video of the moment online.

Martin also shared more footage from inside the palace, including a clip of Trump cheerfully participating in a traditional sword dance alongside the Emir. Social media lapped it up.

This visit has been a goldmine of viral content. The buzz began even before Trump touched down. While en route to Qatar, his plane was ceremonially escorted by F-15 fighter jets, an unusual and grand gesture by Qatari authorities. This came just days after a similarly grand reception in Saudi Arabia, where Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman personally chauffeured Trump to a state dinner in a golf cart, an on-brand nod to Trump’s well-known love for golf.

But Qatar arguably raised the bar. Upon arrival in Doha, the President’s motorcade was led through the city by red and gold police Cybertrucks in a futuristic show of flair. Elon Musk himself shared the video on X, adding to the online frenzy.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get more surreal, a parade of camels welcomed Trump outside the Amiri Diwan, Qatar’s presidential office.

And this trip wasn’t just about ceremony and photo ops. Trump and Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani signed a major deal: Qatar is purchasing 160 aircraft from Boeing in a transaction valued at $200 billion. The Emir even offered Trump a luxury Boeing 747-8 to serve as a temporary Air Force One while the US awaits its new presidential jets.
