Pakistani ‘cringe’ singer Chahat Fateh Ali Khan became a viral sensation with his rendition of Noor Jehan’s iconic song Bado badi. Several content creators worldwide created Instagram reels on the song, drawing attention to Khan. Now, singer Ali Zafar has said he was ‘delusional’ and ‘arrogant’ as he thought he had no competition.
Reacting to a post on X that showed Khan’s Bado badi garnered 19 million views on YouTube in a month compared to the 16 million views Zafar’s song Balo batian with singer Ata Ullah, Zafar wrote, “Confession: I was delusional and arrogant to think I had no competition. I’ve been humbled.”
Bado badi, as of now, has crossed 26 million views on YouTube.

Zafar’s post amassed over 74,000 views and triggered a sea of hilarious reactions with one saying, “Aaye haye oye hoye.” Another user commented, “Quality over quantity darling!” Another user said, “You have been schooled!!”
Born as Kashif Rana in Lahore, Chahat Fateh Ali Khan, 56, rose to prominence in 2020 during the pandemic. His songs prompted meme fests, making him a part of multiple Pakistani talk shows including Jani Ki Shah, Public Demand with Mohsin Abbass Haider, Honest Hour podcast, and more. According to reports, he was also invited to the IPPA Awards 2023. According to reports, he represented Lahore in two first-class cricket matches and scored 16 runs for the Quaid-e-Azam trophy in the 1983-84 season.
Chahat Fateh Ali Khan’s rendition of Bado badi was released on YouTube in April 2024 and featured actor Wajdhan Rao Ranghar.
