Today is Mother’s Day and Google has decided to honour the occasion with a very special Google Doodle of its own. The interactive doodle has a play button on the second ‘o’ in the word Google.
When you click on the play button, it shows a mother duck taking her little ducklings under her wing, followed by a leopard cub crying until the mother comes in and picks it up. Next in the sequence is a female rabbit and four little kits who jump onto their mother’s lap playfully.
The final sequence has a child who then runs towards its mother. After that the doodle plays in a loop. It is a simple doodle, but touching at the same time and honours mothers across species.
Mother’s Day celebrates and honours mothers everywhere. Australia, India, Canada, United States of America and many other countries celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May. In United Kingdom, Mother’s Day or Mothering Sunday is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of Lent.
