Enjoy a bubble bath that smells like fried chicken, thanks to KFC Japan’s bathbomb

The bath bombs, available in the shape of a chicken leg will release the aroma of the fried food once you throw them in water. The whacky toiletries were born when the brand decided to team up with Village Vanguard, the same Japanese company that previously launched some crazy novelty of food-like bath salts.

You can love them or hate them, but you can’t ignore the brilliant social media campaigns by KFC. From out-of-the-world meteorite zinger burger to launching ‘finger-lickin’ good’ merchandise and home decor, they have done it all to be in the limelight. Not to forget how they got everyone talking by following only the 11 ‘Herbs and Spices’ on Twitter. Now, they are back with another innovative but bizarre product — a bath bomb. Well, bath bombs are not bizarre and people are usually fond of them for its freezy foamy feel but if it emits the smell of fried chicken, will you still be so excited?

Yes, the fast-food giant in Japan has introduced special fried chicken flavoured bath bombs and people are not sure how they feel about it. The bombs, available in the shape of a chicken leg will release the aroma of the fried food once you throw them in water. Imagine enjoying a bubble bath in a chicken soup or something similar instead of say, lavender or rose!

The whacky toiletries were born when the brand decided to team up with Village Vanguard, the same Japanese company that previously launched some crazy novelty of food-like bath salts. From pepperoni pizza to beer, there is no dearth of bizarre flavours of their own bath powder.

However, you can’t get your hands on these chicken bombs easily as you can’t actually buy them. They are part of a contest and you have to win it! Each day, 100 people will randomly be chosen by a lottery as part of a campaign that runs from November 1 to15. If you want to take part, you need live in Japan and need to follow their official KFC Japan Twitter page, and then retweet the contest tweet with the hashtags #KFCのアノ香りand #秘伝のコンビパック(which translates to #thatsmellofkfc and #secretcombinationpack).

However, this is not the first time the brand has tried to encash on fan’s love for the fried chicken products. Last year for Christmas, they introduced chicken scented candles in New Zealand. And if that seems normal, then did you know the company had also introduced chicken-flavoured sunscreen lotion and nail paint?

Here’s how people are reacting to this product:
