Microsoft adds voice search to Bing Chat, can also answer questions in its own voice

Apart from being able to search using voice, Bing Chat also supports the ability to answer questions in its own voice.

Last month, Microsoft announced that Bing Chat is now open to all and added a bunch of new features to Bing Chat like support for images in answers, a brand new widget for both Android and iOS devices and the ability to remember chat history like ChatGPT.

Now, the tech giant seems to be rolling out another useful feature for those using Bing Chat on their desktop. Similar to the mobile version of Edge, users can now perform a voice search on the desktop version of the browser. Microsoft says Bing voice search currently supports five languages – Japanese, French, German, Mandarin and English with support for more languages coming soon. In addition to voice searches, the AI-powered chatbot now supports the ability to answer questions in its own voice.

If you want to ask Bing Chat a question using voice, press on the microphone icon that resides on the text field where you ask Bing questions and allow microphone access to the AI chatbot by pressing the ‘Allow’ button that pops up on the bottom of the address bar. You can now speak to Bing Chat and get your queries answered via text or voice in seconds.

With Microsoft planning to kill Cortana sometime later this year, the tech giant seems to be redirecting users to other products like Voice access in Windows 11, Microsoft 365 Copilot and Windows Copilot, which might replace the voice assistant once it is discontinued.
