With just a week left for Apple’s biggest event of the year — WWDC 23 — where, the company will announce its next-generation operating systems for iPhone, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple TV. Besides, it is speculated that Apple will also showcase several new hardware products, including the company’s first mixed reality headset, a 15-inch MacBook Air, and the most powerful Mac Pro with Apple Silicon at the event.
According to a report by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg, the company will make at least seven major announcements at WWDC 2023. Here is everything Apple might showcase at its upcoming developers’ conference, happening on June 5 at Steve Jobs Theatre, Apple Park in Cupertino, California.
The highlight of WWDC 2023 is expected to be the launch of the company’s first mixed reality headset — RealityPro, powered by xrOS. Apple’s first AR/VR headset is said to be a premium device, costing upwards of $3,000. This device is said to be equipped with two 4K resolution screens and will be powered by Apple Silicon. The headset is also speculated to feature a detachable battery, similar to the MagSafe battery pack, and the Reality Pro headset is said to run iPad apps.
Apple will officially unveil iOS 17, watchOS 10, macOS 14, and iPadOS 17 at WWDC 2023. The new iOS 17 is said to include several nice-to-have features, including app sideloading capability and a new journal app. iOS 17 is also said to transform an iPhone into a smart display device. iPadOS 17 will be based on iOS 17 and is likely to add more features and capabilities that make use of the new Apple Silicon.
Just like iOS 17, watchOS 10 is also expected to be a major release and is said to introduce a new widget-based UI for easy navigation. watchOS 10 is also expected to introduce several new health-centric features. Lastly, macOS 14 might also come with a major overhaul and is said to feature a slightly redesigned UI and more capabilities, especially on Apple Silicon-powered Macs.
Apple is likely to announce more than two new Macs at WWDC 2023, including the refreshed 13-inch MacBook Air and a new iMac with more powerful internals. Similarly, the company is also speculated to announce the most powerful Mac Pro and is also reported to launch a new 15-inch MacBook Air.
