OnePlus explains why its premium smartphones cost less
OnePlus claims their business model allows the company to sell its products at about Rs 20,000- Rs 40,000 less price.

OnePlus has claimed its business model is more efficient than traditional premium smartphone makers; helping the company sell premium products at lower prices. OnePlus, in a blogpost, said the brand is more transparent as they sell their products directly to consumers without mark ups and don’t spend money on marketing, distribution etc.
Amrit H, Administrator, OnePlus, said smartphone makers can no longer hide ‘shoddy products’ behind marketing campaigns. “With the advent of the internet and social media, big brands can no longer hide shoddy products behind their marketing campaigns,” reads the blogpost.

The post says when a company goes through distribution, retail and marketing costs procedure, their end products usually cost Rs 40,000 – Rs 70,000. OnePlus, on the other hand, sells the same premium products in the Rs 20,000 – Rs 30,000 price bracket.

“In order to put their products in every store walk into and plaster their ads on every street corner, TV station, and webpage, traditional brands need to spend a lot of money,” Amit H’s post says. “Correction: YOU need to spend a lot of money because in the end, these costs are passed down to the you, the consumer,” he adds.
OnePlus, recently launched its flagship OnePlus 3 in India. The smartphone is priced at Rs 27,999 for the 64GB storage space option, with dual-SIM 4G support. OnePlus 3 comes with a metal unibody design.
OnePlus 3 runs the Snapdragon 820 processor clocked at 2.15 Ghz with 6GB RAM and has a 16 megapixel rear camera and an eight megapixel front camera.
