Android smartphone brands are getting ready to showcase their latest innovations, and a series of high-end smartphones, featuring flagship chips are about to enter the Indian market.

This time around, the new flagship chips from Qualcomm, Mediatek, and Samsung not only offer performance improvements, but also introduce several AI capabilities, including the ability to natively run on-device generative AI models, which will be used in tasks like image generation, live translation, and more.

Here are some of the most anticipated flagship phones launching in the next few weeks in India.

iQOO 12

iQOO has officially confirmed that its latest flagship smartphone — iQOO 12, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is launching in India on December 12, which also makes it the first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC-powered phone to launch in the country. Besides the new chip, the phone comes with an upgraded design in collaboration with BMW M Sport, and this will also be the first iQOO phone to launch in the country with a 3x 64 MP periscope zoom lens.

The smartphone is fueled by a 5,000 mAh battery with support for industry-leading 120W fast charging via the USB-C port and the device is also expected to offer up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

OnePlus 12

Just like the iQOO 12, the upcoming OnePlus 12 is also turning out to be a big upgrade over its predecessor. Powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, the OnePlus 12 is also expected to include a highly capable triple camera setup, which includes a periscope zoom lens, the first non-foldable OnePlus phone to do the same. On top of that, the OnePlus 12 is also confirmed to include a cutting-edge 2K resolution 120Hz display by BoE, which is said to be a bright and colour-accurate panel, capable of achieving over 3,000 nits of peak brightness.

The smartphone is speculated to include a large 5,400 mAh battery with support for 100W fast charging, and out-of-the-box, the phone is likely to run on Android 14 based OxygenOS 14 skin in India.

OnePlus 12R

Built on top of the highly popular OnePlus 11R, the upcoming OnePlus 12R is said to be a mid-range performance champ, based on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. The smartphone is likely to feature a curved display and a large battery with super fast charging support, and it is also expected to include all the bells and whistles such as an alert slider, clean OxygenOS, and more that one expects from a OnePlus phone.

The smartphone is likely to cost around Rs 40,000, which should make it one of the most affordable Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC-powered phones in the country.

Vivo X100, X100 Pro

The Vivo X100 series is likely to be the first smartphone series with the Mediatek Dimensity 9300 SoC to launch in India. The device offers a premium design and includes a multi-camera setup with Zeiss optics and colour tuning. Just like their predecessors, the Vivo X100 series is expected to take the mobile camera performance to the next level.

Both variants will offer a curved AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and they also have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Xiaomi 14 Pro

Xiaomi is also expected to launch its flagship 14 Pro, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC in India, which will also be the first device from the brand to ship with its own custom HyperOS, based on AOSP with several new customisation features. The Xiaomi 14 Pro, just like the iPhone 15 Pro offers a premium design, made out of premium materials like titanium frame, and it also features Xiaomi’s Longjing Dragon Crystal Glass, which is said to be the toughest glass ever used on a smartphone.

Other prominent features of the Xiaomi 14 Pro include a 50 MP triple camera setup, while it does miss out on a 1-inch sensor, the new primary sensor on the Xiaomi 14 Pro offers variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0.

Redmi Note 13 Pro+

The Redmi Note 13 Pro+ is likely to be one of the most anticipated mid-range phones, launching in the next few weeks, This is also the first smartphone in the Redmi Note lineup to feature a 120Hz curved AMOLED screen, featuring an in-display fingerprint sensor. The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC with up to 16 GB RAM and 512 GB of internal storage.

The phone also has a 200 MP primary camera with support for 4K video recording, and despite being a budget phone, the phone has an aluminium frame, and it is also expected to carry an IP68 rating, at least in select markets.
