Much to the joy of mobile gamers, Krafton’s BGMI (Battlegrounds Mobile India) version 2.5 is finally available for both Android and iOS devices. BGMI is reported to have over 100 million active players and has clocked over 130 million downloads on the Google Play Store.
With its second comeback to India, the studio has made several changes in compliance with the Government of India. Consequently, These changes have slightly altered how the game looks and feels.
I have been playing BGMI on an Android phone for the last 48 hours, and here are some of the fascinating aspects of India’s most popular battle royale video game that caught my attention.
BGMI now has a playtime limit, where a player, who is less than 18 years old, can only access the game for three hours a day. Similarly, anyone over the age of 18 can play the game for up to six hours a day. However, there is no provision to look at the remaining time in the game.
To mark its comeback, Krafton is offering free and permanent costumes to everyone who rejoins BGMI or signs up for it for the first time. Do note that custom costumes usually cost real money, and as a part of the celebration, select costumes will be free for a limited period. However, to get these custom limited-edition collectables, you have to complete certain tasks, such as surviving in a game for over five minutes, entering cheer park, adding new friends, and more.
When you kill someone on BGMI, green-coloured blood comes out instead of red, which makes it less gory. Besides, the game also allows users to switch to yellow, pink, or even orange colour via the colourblind mode option from the settings menu.
The latest update also adds a new map—Nusa, which is also the smallest 1x1 map in the video game. Each game on this new map will last for a maximum period of 8 minutes. The new map also introduces new vehicles, weapons along with in-game capabilities and super recall to make the game even more engaging.
Each time I opened BGMI, it showed me a warning, stating that it's not based on the real-world and that it is a survival simulation game set in a virtual world. Before each match, BGMI also broadcasts the same audio message, and one can only start the match after agreeing to it by pressing ok.
I have been playing BGMI even before the first ban, and for the first time, I noticed an option called cheer park, which is a virtual park, where, players can do a lot of activities, including an option to sharpen aiming skills at the shooting range, joining a race, and a lot more.
If you are new to BGMI, you can go to the training park from the maps menu to sharpen your shooting skills and vehicle handling. The best part about this feature is that it has all the weapons and vehicles at your disposal.
