Poco X5 Pro vs Redmi Note 12 Pro series
This is an interesting one, given Poco is seen as Xiaomi's sub-brand, though the company insists that there is distinction. Still Poco's phones run the same MIUI seen on Xiaomi and Redmi phones, though they come with their own Poco launcher to emphasis the difference.
But with the Poco X5 Pro, the company has also compared benchmarks of the Snapdragon 778G against the Mediatek Dimensity 1080 which incidentally also powers the Redmi Note 12 Pro+ smartphone and the Realme 10 Pro+. While Poco insists the Snapdragon 778G is outperforming the Mediatek chipset, the marketing message is interesting, given it is also a direct take on the Redmi phone-- though obviously in the brand's comparisons, these are being done against Realme. Still, how the Poco X5 Pro fares against the Redmi series will be closely watched.

The latest Poco phone is slightly pricier compared to its predecessor. But does it make for a better purchase option? Here's our review.

Poco has also made the Poco X5 Pro slightly thinner at 7.9mm and is the slimmest phone in the X series to date. It has a flat frame design and happens to be the lighter side, weighing just 181 grams. The phone is available in four colour variants - yellow, black and a blue.
The Poco X5 Pro comes with a 'Flow AMOLED' screen, which offers thinner bezels and offers a more immersive experience. The 120Hz 10-bit AMOLED display also supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+. The global variant of the Poco X5 Pro retains the 108MP camera from the Poco X4 Pro. The company said the 108MP camera paired with the Snapdragon 778G chipset will offer better image quality. It looks like Poco has also improved the night mode and introduced 4K video recording at 30 fps. But we are unsure if the same camera sensor will find its way to the Indian version of the phone.
Poco says the X5 Pro will be one of the best smartphones in the under $300 (approx Rs 25,000) segment. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G chipset which is based on TSMC's 6nm process. According to Poco, the X5 Pro will come with MIUI 14 out of the box.
The Poco X5 will be powered by the popular Snapdragon 695 chipset and is the first non-pro phone in the X series to come with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The Poco X5 Pro features a 120Hz AMOLED screen with support for adaptive refresh rates ranging from 30-120Hz and 1920Hz PWM Dimming.

Some of the phone's key specifications have already been confirmed by Poco. The Poco X5 Pro 5G will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G SoC. A leak claims it will cost Rs 20,999 if one includes prospective bank discounts-- so it will be more expensive than the Poco X4 Pro. Other Snapdragon 778G SoC-powered are from Samsung, iQOO and typically cost more than Rs 30,000. The phone could come with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. It will come with 108MP rear camera, 120HZ AMOLED display and a slim design profile. Poco X5 Pro will likely pack a 5,000 mAh battery with 67W fast charging.
