On Thursday, Oppo unveiled India’s first IP69-rated smartphone, the F27 Pro+, which also features a damage-proof 360-degree Armour Body, which, according to the company, will protect the device from drops and scratches. Available in two colours –– Dusk Pink and Midnight Navy –– the Oppo F27 Pro+ comes in two variants, offering 128GB or 256GB storage options, with a starting price of Rs 27,999.

The Oppo F27 Pro+ will be on sale starting June 20 and is already available for pre-order.

The highlight of the Oppo F27 Pro+ is its IP69 rating, making it a waterproof smartphone that can withstand high pressure and extreme temperatures. The device is also rated for IP66 and IP68, and can even survive up to 30 minutes of water immersion. Additionally, Oppo is offering six months of complimentary insurance for accidental damage and liquid protection.

Oppo says the F27 Pro+ has a durable body built using materials like sponges to enhance drop resistance, along with high-thermal conductivity aluminum alloy to protect the mainboard. Despite that, the device only weighs 177g and features a premium vegan leather back panel with a cosmos ring-inspired camera island.

The 6.7-inch 3D curved display at the front is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and offers a higher 93 per cent screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7050 SoC with 8 GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of internal storage.

The phone has a 64 MP primary camera, a 2 MP depth sensor, and an 8 MP selfie camera. It ships with Android 14-based ColorOS 14, along with four years of software updates. A 5,000 mAh battery fuels the device with support for 67W fast charging, and the company claims that the phone can retain 80 per cent of the battery capacity even after four years of regular usage.
