Nokia 8 Sirocco has received a price cut of Rs 13,000, and will now be available from Rs 36,999. This indicates that HMD Global could be launching a new phone, likely to either of Nokia 7.1 Plus or Nokia 8.1. Nokia 8 Sirocco was launched in India at Rs 49,999, though its current retail price is Rs 36,999.
While the change is visible on the Nokia India website, the price cut is yet to be acknowledged by Flipkart, the phone’s official seller. The modified price if Nokia 8 Sirocco comes at a time when leaks have begun to emerge around Nokia 8.1, that is expected to be launched by the end of the year.
Both phones share design similarities, though the latter is expected to run Android Pie out of the box.
Recently, the company had released the Android October security patch for this phone, which was initially rolled out for India and Russia. HMD has set a November timeline for Nokia 8 Sirocco to receive the Android Pie update, which will also be extended to Nokia 8. While the latter had been launched last year, Nokia 8 Sirocco was unveiled at MWC 2018, held in Barcelona.
Specifications of Nokia 8 Sirocco include a 5.5-inch QHD display with a 16:9 screen aspect ratio. Nokia 8 Sirocco runs the Snapdragon 835 processor paired with 6GB RAM, 128GB internal memory and expandable storage of up to 400GB. It also comes with a 3260mAh battery, that supports fast charging as well as wireless charging. This phone features dual rear cameras with 12MP+13MP sensor sizes, as well as a 5MP front camera.
