Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 Pureview official cases listed online before December 5 launch

Official cases of Nokia 9 Pureview and Nokia 8.1 'Phoenix' have been spotted through a German retail website. The phones are expected to be launched globally at an event in Dubai on December 5.

Nokia 8.1 and Nokia 9 Pureview protective cases have been spotted online by NokiaPowerUser. In its report, the listing of official cases for both phones are visible, with a price tag and compatibility details alongside. This comes soon after HMD Global confirmed that the phones would launch besides the Nokia 2.1 on December 5, at an event in Dubai.

Of these, two covers of the Nokia 8.1, with the codename ‘Phoenix’, and the Nokia 9 Pureview can be seen from the pages of a German online retailer. The Phoenix covers listed include an Entertainment Flip Cover, with the product code CP-281 that is available in Tempered Blue, as well as a Clear Case having the CC-181 product code.

Both product listings are followed by the section mentioning ‘Compatible with: Nokia 8.1’. This listing also seems to confirm the naming of the phone, that was launched in China last month as Nokia X7.

The other case, a Premium Clear Case with product code CC-190 is spotted with compatibility for the Nokia 9 Pureview. In its report, NokiaPowerUser appears to have confirmed from retailers that this case is an official product of HMD Global. While the case images do not show with any of the three models, though the Nokia 8.1 Phoenix flip cover and clear case are priced at 10.19 euros (Rs 840 approx.) and 6.64 euros (Rs 550 approx.) respectively. On the other hand, Nokia 9 Pureview’s premium clear case is priced at 11.15 euros (Rs 920 approx.).

Nokia 8.1, Nokia 9 Pureview specifications

Nokia 8.1 is expected to be the global name of Nokia X7, that has been launched in China. Featuring a 6.18-inch display, the phone features a screen aspect ratio of 19:9. Based on Android 8.1 Oreo, the phone runs the Snapdragon 710 processor, as well as a 3400mAh battery. Nokia 8.1 will be available in 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage variants. The phone comes with 12MP+13MP dual rear cameras as well as a 20MP front camera.

Meanwhile, Nokia 9 Pureview could be the world’s first phone to feature five cameras at the back. The penta-rear camera configuration has been leaked within a hexagonal design, that also includes an LED flash module. Expected to feature a 5.8-inch QHD display, the phone could also come with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Besides being the first Nokia phone to feature the Pureview branding, Nokia 9 is also confirmed to be based on Android 9 Pie, with storage options of up to 8GB RAM and 128GB. The phone could run the Snapdragon 845 processor, and come with a 4150mAh battery.
