Xiaomi recently unveiled the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, its latest flagship phone at the Mobile World Congress 2024. Launched a few days ago in China, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra packs the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
In terms of design, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra looks similar to its predecessor but the company seems to have extended the curved display to all sides. The device runs on HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box and comes with Leica Summilex tuned lenses.
Compared to the vanilla Xiaomi 14, the Ultra model features a larger 6.73-inch 120Hz QHD+ LTPO AMOLED screen with a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. On the back, you get a circular camera island that packs a 1-inch 50MP Sony LYT900 primary camera accompanied by a 50MP Sony IMX858 telephoto lens that offers 3.2x optical zoom, a 50MP periscope lens with 5x optical zoom and a 50MP ultrawide sensor. It has a center punch-hole display that houses a 32MP selfie shooter.
Xiaomi also seems to be bringing back its photography kit for the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which lets you connect a separate camera grip and a dedicated shutter release button to the phone. The grip is attached to the phone via USB-C and offers customisable controls that let users adjust shutter speed, ISO and aperture and packs a 1,500mAh battery.
Compared to the other variants in the series, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra has a bigger 5,300mAh battery that can be charged at 90W, which is a bit slower than the Xiaomi 14 Pro’s 120W charging. It also supports 80W wireless charging. Unlike the other models in the series, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra comes in only one variant that offers 16GB RAM and 512GB storage. It is currently available for EUR 1,499, which translates to approximately Rs 1,34,500.
