Microsoft announced Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL at its New York event today. The Lumia 950 starts at $549 while Lumia 950XL starts at $649 for 32GB storage variant. India launch details unknown at the moment.

For those interested in specs, Lumia 950 features a 5.2-inch display and Lumia 950XL gets a larger 5.7-inch display. Both the devices come with WQHD OLED panels with Glance technology. Microsoft says the display for both phones come with additional features like orientation sensor, Sunlight readability enhancements, Gorilla Glass 3 in 950 and Glass 4 in 950 XL,wide viewing angle, Automatic brightness control, etc.

Lumia 950 is powered by a Snapdragon 808 processor while 950XL is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset. Both the devices start with 32GB storage option. Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL both come with 3GB RAM and support an additional memory card space of up to 200 GB.

Both Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL includes tablet class liquid cooling technology. Like legacy Lumia 1020, Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL come with 20-megapixel camera on the back with triple LED RGB flash which Microsoft claims will ensure well-lit pictures and people will look more natural with little red-eye effect. Also the new cameras are capable of 4K video with optical image stabilisation. The front camera is 5 mp on both smartphones with wide-angle lens.

Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL come with WQHD resolution.

The Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL supports USB-Type C port with quick charging. Microsoft claims these phone charge from dead to 50 percent in flat 30 minutes. Both the phones also support Continuum which converts these mobile devices into a full-fledged Windows 10 PCs via a dock.

The battery capacity in the Lumia 950 is 3000 mAh, while the Lumia 950 XL has a 3340 mAh battery. Microsoft is promising a maximum standby time of 12 days with both phones. Lumia 950 has 9.5 hours of Wi-Fi network browsing time, while XL has 11 hours of the same.

Microsoft Lumia 950 and Lumia 950XL goes on sale next month. As far as India launch and price go, there is no official word from Microsoft on the same.
