Lava Pixel V1’s specs are: 5.5-inch HD IPS Full Lamination Display, Dragon Trail Glass for protection, 2GB RAM, 32 GB storage space (expandable to an extra 32 GB via microSD) and a 2650 mAh battery. The Pixel V1 is powered by a 1.3 GHz MediaTek Quad-core processor and is a dual SIM 3G+3G smartphone.
In terms of the camera, the Pixel V1 can take up to 13MP BSI rear camera images (Software enhanced 8MP sensor) and has a 8MP BSI front camera (software enhanced 5MP sensor). The Lava Pixel V1 runs Android Lollipop (v5.1) and Lava is promising upgrades to the next version of Android for the next two years as well.
According to Lava, the Pixel V1 has 73.6 per cent screen to body ratio with a 76.3mm wide body, one of the best in its segment. The smartphone will be available in white-silver and gold from today.
Where the phone’s overall look is concerned, it has a removable back cover and battery, and the phone is fairly light. The silver metallic coating on the rears makes the Pixel V1 a fairly sharp looking device, definitely far superior in looks to the earlier versions of Android One launched in India last year.
Out of the 32GB space, around 25 GB is available on the smartphone, which is still quite a lot given the price point of Rs 11,349. No other phone offers 32GB space in this price-point category for now. This Android One Pixel V1 is of course free of bloatware and functions fairly smoothly.
But Lava’s Pixel V1 not the only pure-Android smartphone in this budget category. Motorola’s Moto G, is may be, the closes to being plain vanilla Android. Interestingly, Lava Pixel V1 has been launched a day ahead of the release of the third generation of the Moto G.
Wait for a detailed review of the Lava Pixel V1.
