Apple iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have 2GB RAM, while the iPad Pro has 4GB RAM, according to a tweet from iOS developer Hamza Sood

Sood tweeted, “Not much of a surprise but Xcode confirms 2GB of RAM for the 6s (and 6s plus), and 4GB for the iPad Pro.” The information is based on the Apple iOS developer tool Xcode.

Check out the tweet below:

Of course, Apple has never really confirmed or revealed the RAM storage in its devices, and while the 2GB RAM for the latest iPhones was rumoured ahead of the launch, the latest tweet is being seen as a confirmation.

So far, Apple stuck with 1GB RAM for its iPhones, while Android phones like Samsung Galaxy S6, Note 5, etc have moved onto 3GB RAM. Other Android devices like OnePlus 2 offer 4GB RAM.  With Apple though less RAM has never really affected the performance, although many had pointed out the 1GB RAM was outdated, given the competition.

However as Apple Insider points out, it’s still not clear if Apple is using LPDDR4 for the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus or are continuing with the LPDDR3.

Further confirmation on Apple iPhone 6s’ RAM status will probably come once the tear-downs begin after it goes on sale.

While the RAM has gone up in the iPhone 6s, Apple it appears has reduced the battery. Apple’s introducing the iPhone 6s video, shows the number 1715 etched on the battery, which would be lesser than the iPhone 6 which had a 1810 mAh battery. Read more here.
