Honor, the online only smartphone brand of Chinese smartphone giant Huawei has launched its flagship Honor 8 smartphone in China. The smartphone follows the dual 12MP rear camera first seen on Huawei P9 but skips on the Leica branding.
Honor 8 features a 5.2-inch Full HD display and is powered by Huawei’s own HiSilicon Kirin 950 processor. The smartphone comes with up to 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. These basic specifications make it identical to Huawei P9.
Honor 8 is 7.45 mm thick and weighs 153 grams and its runs EMUI 4.1 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow. It also comes with a rear fingerprint scanner with support for multiple modes.

In a recent conversation with IndianExpress.com, Allen Wang, President – Huawei Consumer Business in India hinted at company plans to launch high-end products based on Huawei P series and Ascend series under Honor brand and Honor 8 could be the first fruit of that initiative.
Honor 8 features a dual 12MP rear cameras with f/2.2 aperture. Like P9, one image sensor is for capturing colours while the other one is capturing black colours. Its unclear whether Honor 8 has monochrome option like Huawei P9.
Honor 8 features an 8MP selfie-camera with f./2.4 aperture. The smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and uses USB-C port for charging.
Honor 8 goes on sale in China starting from July 19 and will be available in Pearl White, Sunrise Gold, Midnight Black, Sakura Pink and Sapphire Blue colour variants. The 3GB RAM variant with 32GB storage is priced at 1,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 20,060) while the 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage will retail for 2,499 Yuan (approximately Rs 25,078).
