Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are undoubtedly some of the most anticipated and leaked Android smartphones of the year. The upcoming series features an upgraded camera setup and is powered by Google’s latest chipset – Tensor G3.

Now, a recent report by 91mobiles has unveiled new features coming to the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro. While some of the features like Night Sight, Astrophotography, Super Res Zoom and Real Tone are already available on Google’s existing smartphones, the tech giant is adding a new feature called ‘Magic Editor’ that lets users swap faces in an image using AI. For enthusiasts, Google also introduced a Pro mode that offers full manual controls, which the company says are ‘modeled after DSLR controls’.

As for videos, the Pixel 8 series introduces Video Boost, Night Sight for low-light videos and an Audio Eraser that helps reduce background sounds. The video mode also brings skin tone improvements.

It also reveals the details of the camera setup on the Pixel 8 series devices. While the Pixel 8 gets a 50MP primary camera and 12MP ultrawide lens, the Pixel 8 Pro features a triple camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary sensor backed by a 48MP ultrawide lens and a 48MP telephoto camera that offers 5x zoom.

The upcoming smartphones also bring fixed auto-focus to the front camera, which is powered by a 10.5MP sensor with a 95-degree field of view.

The Google Pixel 8 series has been leaked numerous times, leaving nothing to the imagination. Apart from upgraded internals, the smartphone also brings a new temperature sensor and a redesigned camera island that still looks familiar. Last month, Google announced that it will launch the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro on October 4, with some rumours suggesting it will be available in India a day later on October 5.

At the event, the tech giant is also likely to announce the Pixel Watch 2 powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset alongside the Pixel Buds A-series and Pixel Buds Pro.
