Apple iPhone XR durability test shows build quality at par with iPhone XS
Apple iPhone XR is now available for purchase both online and offline stores in India. For a price at Rs 76,900, the iPhone XR is the cheapest model in the new iPhone X lineup. Unlike the iPhone XS or iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR does not feature an OLED panel, but it comes with an A12 Bionic chipset, Face ID support and full-screen design. The new iPhone model has received durability test from YouTuber, JerryRigEverything.
In the video, the YouTuber has put the iPhone XR Orange colour variant through a series of tests including scratch, bend, burn and camera lens scratch test. As per the YouTuber, Apple advertises sapphire glass cover protecting the camera, however, while testing, Jerry observed ‘heavy marks’ when the lens was scratched at level 6 and level 7.

But the video also shows that the metal frame on iPhone XR is solid. Interestingly, the screen on the phone smoothly recovered from burns and it did not bend. During the bend test, Jerry did not find any kink in the frame or bend in the body. Further, iPhone XR fares well in the burn test, with the pixels recovering after being subjected to the flame for 10 seconds.
The iPhone XR’s build quality is on par with the high-end iPhone XS, which shows Apple might not have made as many compromises as was being believed. The iPhone XR should survive damage under normal conditions, if one goes by the video.
Apple iPhone XR sports a 6.1-inch LCD display with a 1792×828 display with True Tone Technology. The display feature ‘Haptic Touch.’ The phone comes with a single rear camera sensor. iPhone XR supports wireless charging. The 64GB model of the iPhone XR has been priced in India at 76,900. Meanwhile, the 128GB and 256GB variant comes for a price of Rs 81,900 and Rs 91,900 respectively.
