CMF Phone 1

A few months ago, Nothing sub-brand CMF launched the Phone 1, its first smartphone ever. Powered by the Dimensity 7300 chipset, the phone has a plastic back that unlike other budget phones looks and feels premium.

CMF also says that users can quickly replace the rear panel to get it a refreshing look and even add some accessories like a stand or card case, which one needs to purchase separately. The device runs on NothingOS 2.6.0 based on Android 14, with the company promising two years of OS updates.

On the back, you get a minimal dual camera setup that consists of a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth shooter. As is the case with most mid-range phones, the 50MP sensor is able to shoot good photos during daytime, but often struggles at night. However, for the asking price, this is a good camera.

The base variant of the CMF Phone 1 (review) that comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is currently available on Flipkart for Rs 14,999, but you can get it for around Rs 13,500 with SBI credit card offer.

Lava Agni 3

Are you looking for a mid-range phone with a twist? Lava’s latest phone, the Agni 3, might be a good option. Launched earlier this month, it is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300X chipset and has a 6.78-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen.

It also happens to be the first phone in the mid-range segment to offer a secondary AMOLED screen on the back, which measures 1.74 and allows you to quickly check notifications and control music playback.

Lava Agni 3 sports a rear triple camera setup, which consists of a 50MP primary sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide camera and another 8MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, making it one of the few phones under Rs 20,000 to come with a dedicated telephoto lens.

The device runs on near-stock Android 14 with some modifications on top and is slated to get 3 years of Android updates.  If you are looking to buy a phone that stands out from the competition in terms of design and camera, the Lava Agni 3 is a good option. It is available on Amazon and starts from Rs 20,999 for the version that comes without charger. However, you can save some money by using bank card offers.

Poco F6

Launched earlier this year, the Poco F6 (review) is one of the best smartphones that offers great bang for the buck. Featuring the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3, a chipset that is usually found on phones that cost almost twice as much, the Poco F6 runs on Xiaomi’s HyperOS based on Android 14 out of the box.

It has an impressive AMOLED screen and packs a 50MP primary camera and an 8MP ultrawide lens, with the primary sensor taking good photos during daytime as well as in low light conditions. The only downside is that the plastic build might not appeal to some, but if you use a cover on your phone, which most of us do, then this is one of the best phones in the under Rs 30,000 price bracket.

The base variant of the Poco F6, which comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage is currently available on Flipkart for Rs 22,999, while the 12GB RAM and 512GB version is selling for Rs 22,999. However, you might be able to save a few bucks using card offers.

Honor 200

Since its reentry into the Indian smartphone market, Honor has been quietly launching some impressive phones and the Honor 200 is no exception. Featuring a refreshing design with a quad-curved OLED display, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, which can easily handle day-to-day tasks and run the latest games at respectable settings.

It runs on MagicOS 8 based on Android 14 out of the box and comes with an elliptical camera island that houses a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide sensor and a 50MP telephoto lens with 2.5 optical zoom.

In the mid-range segment, the Honor 200 stands out from its competition by offering a unique design combined with a great telephoto lens and an equally impressive primary camera. If you want a phone that takes good photos without spending much, the Honor 200 is an easy recommendation. It is currently selling on Amazon for 24,998.

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

Samsung’s 2023 flagship phone is also available at a discounted price. Featuring the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, the Galaxy S23 Ultra features a 6.8-inch 120Hz AMOLED screen that is really bright both indoors and outdoors.

The back of the phone houses a quad camera setup that consists of a 200MP primary camera accompanied by a 12MP ultrawide sensor, a 10MP telephoto sensor with 10x optical zoom and another periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom. It comes with OneUI 5.1 based on Android 13, but Samsung has promised 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security patches.

One downside is that Samsung has limited the charging speed to 45W, which is fast, but compared to other flagships, may not be enough for some. Also, the phone has sharp corners, which might make it uncomfortable if you carry your phone in a jeans pocket. If you are looking for a solid flagship that will offer the newest features for years to come, the Galaxy S23 Ultra (review) is a no-brainer for Rs 74,999.
