Microsoft, on Thursday, announced two new sales AI agents that are capable of supporting the core function of all businesses and further breaking down silos across legacy systems of record. According to the tech giant, the new sales agents accessible in Microsoft 365 Copilot will help teams close more deals faster. The new agents have been named Sales Agent and Sales Chat.

“Our ambition is to empower every employee with a Copilot and transform every business process with agents. Today, we’re announcing two new agents that apply this ambition to sales—the revenue engine for every business—that can be used right in the flow of work,” the company said in its blog.

Sales Agent and Sales Chat

The Sales Agent is capable of turning contracts into qualified leads, allowing sales reps to close the biggest deals, ensuring that no lead is left behind. The company claims that Sales Agent can work autonomously around the clock to grow their pipeline—research leads, set up meetings, and reach out to customers. The agent can even complete sales for low-impact leads. The agent draws from CRM, company data such as price sheets and the web, along with Microsoft 365 data such as emails and meetings to personalise its responses.

On the other hand, Sales Chat allows companies to accelerate the sales cycle, from getting up to speed on new accounts to even preparing customer meetings. Microsoft said that the agent gives actionable takeaways from CRM data, meetings, pitch decks, emails, and the web. This is to allow sales reps more time to focus on their core functions. “All it takes is a simple, natural language prompt like ‘give me a list of deals that are at risk of falling through. What should I know going into tomorrow’s meeting with this customer? or help me create a plan to close this deal,” read the blog post.

The new agents can be accessed in both Microsoft 365 Copilot and Microsoft 365 Copilot Chat. According to Microsoft, the agents connect to both Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Salesforce, so sales reps can monitor and close deals without even opening their CRM. Both agents will be available in public preview in May.
