Google Home speakers now support Hindi language, Android Police has confirmed in a report. The search giant announced support for Hindi for Home and Home Mini in August at its “Google for India event”. Though Google Assistant had the support since March, it is only now that it has been rolled out for its smart speakers. Separately, Google has confirmed that its new touchscreen speakers, Google Home Hub will support Duo calls.

Google Home users can change language to Hindi both Assistant and speakers by heading to Home app. Open Account tab at the bottom right and click on Settings menu. Next, open Assistant tab and select languages to choose a preferred primary and secondary language. This means, users can also select English as well as Hindi at the same time as well.
Meanwhile, ‘Made by Google’ in response to a user query on Twitter has confirmed that Home Hub will support Duo video calls. “Hey Shane, you can make Duo calls, the person you’re talking to will see your profile picture!” the tweet reads. The smart speaker with display that was launched earlier this month, does not ship with a front-facing camera leading to speculations it will not support video calls. However, recipients will apparently see the profile photo in Home Hub user while making a video call using Duo app.

Google Home Hub rivals Amazon Echo Show and Facebook Portal. The smart speaker has a 7-inch touchscreen display mounted on a speaker base. It is powered by Google Assistant, which means users can control lights in the home, ask recipes, play videos, display photos and a lot more. However, Home Hub does not feature a camera. It is available in the US at a price of $149.
