Canva Enterprise unveils fresh UI and tailored tools: A look at new features

Canva is rolling out the new homepage and editing experience starting today to the first one million users who discover the secret portal hidden in their Canva homepage.

Canva, the popular online creative editor, announced a slew of announcements at its Canva Create event in Los Angeles. The new upgrades bring ease of use and agility to its image editing capabilities. The groundbreaking updates and features have been aimed at boosting workplace productivity and creativity. The company also introduced its subscription offering – Canva Enterprise which has been designed to meet the demands of large companies. 

At a time when organisations are struggling with information overload and the dire need for effective visual communication, the new Canva Enterprise offers solutions that could enhance engagement, boost productivity, and allow brands to scale effectively.

“As demand for visual content soars, navigating organisational complexity is more challenging than ever. We democratised the design ecosystem in our first decade and now look forward to unifying the fragmented ecosystems of design, AI, and workflow tools for every organisation in our second decade,” said Melanie Perkins, co-founder and CEO of Canva.

Canva Enterprise – Features

Canva Enterprise allows large organisations to create vast amounts of visual content and improve internal collaboration. The Enterprise comes with some sophisticated admin controls and security features. The key features are – scalable growth with increased seats and cloud storage, consolidation of design, content production; AI and collaboration tools to reduce costs, advanced brand controls for managing access and external sharing; and enterprise-level security with tools like MFA, SCIM, SSO, and Canva Shield with indemnification for AI-generated content for eligible customers.

Canva has also introduced a new design for its core product experience. This is the first time since its launch that Canva is introducing a new user interface. The new UI is aimed at boosting creativity in the workplace. Canva said that the UI change will enhance workflows. Its features include a streamlined editing experience, a brand new customisable homepage, and simpler and faster collaboration.

Tailored Tools for Teams

Canva has also announced a range of tailored tools for every team, consisting of several products, resources, and templates customised to meet the needs of HR, Sales, Marketing, and Creative departments. This includes Canva Work Kits, new industry-curated collections of hundreds of craft-specific templates, from presentations to documents, built to allow teams to enhance their output.

The Work Kits are fully customisable and can be branded using Canva’s Brand Kit with a single click. The initial Work Kits include tools such as onboarding decks, company newsletters, and job advertisements for Human Resources teams; pitch decks, sales reports, and sales proposals for Sales teams; campaign content calendars, social media posts, and campaign reports for Marketing teams; and creative briefs, production request forms, and brand strategy templates for Creative teams.

Besides, Canva has also introduced Canva Courses, a new offering that has been designed to boost workplace learning. According to the company, Canva Courses will empower users to turn existing designs like presentations, documents, and videos into sequenced interactive courses. From employee onboarding to upskilling and development, Courses can be assigned to individuals across an organisation, and progress can be managed from a central dashboard.

Magic Studio and Affinity v2.5

The company continues to accelerate its AI strategy by bringing a slew of upgrades to Magic Studio that has been used over 6.5 billion times since its launch in October 2023. The upgraded capabilities include Magic Media: Text to Graphic which lets you generate graphics, icons, and illustrations from text prompts; Magic Design which lets one create higher quality presentations; Resize and Magic Switch that converts any design to any format; Styles and Layouts that applies brand colours and templates to entire design with a single click; Supercharged Photo Editing that seamlessly edits any image with AI tools; and AI-powered editing for videos. 

Canva also offers an end-to-end solution for professional designers, illustrators, and typographers. The company launched Affinity v2.5 with advanced edition options such as variable font support, a stroke width tool, and optimisation for ARM64 chips, making it the first creative software with end-to-end native ARM support.
