Anthropic has released its latest AI tool. Named Analysis tool, this new feature turns the Claude chatbot into your data analyst. Anthropic in its post on X said that Claude could now write and run code.
“We’ve added a new analysis tool. The tool helps Claude respond with mathematically precise and reproducible answers. You can then create interactive data visualisations with Artifacts,” wrote Anthropic in its official X account.
Anthropic has introduced the analysis tool as a new built-in feature for Claude.ai that allows Claude to write and run JavaScript code. The chatbot can now process data, conduct analysis, and produce real-time insights.
According to Anthropic, the analysis tool has a built-in code sandbox where Claude can do complex maths, analyse data, and iterate on different ideas before sharing an answer. This ability to process information and run code means that users would get more accurate answers.
While earlier Claude wrote code and could display some of it. However, now the chatbot can execute JavaScript code directly in the chat window. With the latest tool, users can process data, create visualisations, handle complex maths, analyse sales performance, even create a sales funnel, create dashboards to chart daily spends from raw data.
Anthropic claims Claude does not rely on abstract analysis alone, it can systematically process data by cleaning, exploring, and analysing it iteratively until it gets the correct result.
In its blog, Anthropic has said that Claude.ai can expand capabilities across teams, from marketers to engineers. While marketers can upload customer interactions across the full funnel and Claude will offer opportunities to improve conversions, sales teams can upload global sales data and Claude will provide country-specific performance analysis.
Similarly, product managers can upload customer engagement data and get planning and development priorities from Claude. The chatbot can help engineers identify areas for better resource utilisation from performance logs. On the other hand, finance teams can take advantage of Claude to create a dashboard to see key trends by uploading monthly financial data.
Users claim that the new tool is essentially Claude’s version of GPT’s Code Interpreter. While Google has a similar feature for Gemini called Code Execution that lets the model write and run Python code and learn iteratively to offer the best outcome, OpenAI top-of-the-line models can also write and execute code through a feature known as Advanced Data Analysis.
