WTC Points Table: India lose top spot after series whitewash in Mumbai, Australia first

World Test Championship Points Table: India lost the top spot in the ICC World Test Championship rankings to Australia after the home series whitewash and third defeat to New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday.

2023–2025 ICC World Test Championship: India suffered their first-ever home series whitewash in a three-match Test series, losing the third Test at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai by 25 runs on Sunday.

. Last week in Pune, New Zealand had become only the third team after Australia (2004) and England (2012) to record a Test series win in India in the 21st century (since January 1, 2001).

India thereby slipped to the second spot in the WTC rankings, with a PCT dip 58.33, falling behind defending champions, Australia (62.5).

Rohit Sharma’s side cannot afford another loss in their remaining five games to reach the WTC final on their own terms. With five wins in Australia, India can at best finish on 158 points with a points PCT of 69.29.
