Hyderabad batsman Hanuma Vihari’s century proved vital as the Ravi Teja-led side managed to bag three points on the basis of its first-innings lead against Services after the Group C Ranji Trophy cricket match ended in a draw on Wednesday.
Top-order batsman Vihari’s excellent 119 helped the hosts post 338 in response to Services’ 3-6 in the first innings, a vital lead of 32 runs in the four-day encounter at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal.
Hyderabad leg-spinner Akash Bhandari then spun a web to bag five wickets and pack Services for 285 in the second innings. Services skipper Yashpal SIngh top-scored with 60 runs.
Needing 253 for a win, Hyderabad were 52 for one at stumps when the bails were taken off for one final time in the match.

HP crush Assam by an innings and 133 runs
Pacer Rishi Dhawan grabbed five wickets to help Himachal Pradesh crush Assam by an innings and 133 runs in their Ranji Trophy cricket match on the fourth and final day on Wednesday.
Dhawan (5/53) ran through the Assam batting line-up as the hapless home side were skittled out for just 198 in 79.5 overs after being forced to follow on at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium.
HP collected seven points from the win, including a bonus point for forcing the opposition team to follow on, while the home side got none from the Group C match.
