Andhra Pradesh’s batsmen put up a slow but steady performance as they reached 123 for two on a weather-hit opening day of their Ranji Trophy Group C cricket against Himachal Pradesh.
Put into bat on a rain-hit day, Andhra held steady after losing opener Prasanth Kumar (7) early in the day.
In the 34 overs that were bowled, Srikar Bharat and Murumulla Sriram stood out with their patient knocks.
While Bharat departed for 47, which came off 82 deliveries and included six fours, Sriram was still at crease with a 91-ball 45 when stumps were drawn for the day.
The other wicket to fall on Wednesday was of skipper Mohammad Kaif (1). Both the wickets were taken by Rishi Dhawan, who returned figures of two for 40 in his 13 overs.

Electing to bat after winning the toss, Jharkhand put up a strong performance with Ishan Kishan (66) and Ishank Jaggi (58) being the other major contributors to the team’s effort.
