‘Oye Konstas, shot nahi lag rahe kya?’ Yashasvi Jaiswal’s hilarious sledge of Australia opener

Day 2 of the fifth India vs Australia Test has seen Yashasvi Jaiswal trying to sledge Konstas in the most hilarious way possible: in Hindi!

Australia’s teenage newcomer Sam Konstas has constantly gotten under the skins of the Indian cricket team players. Having made his debut against India in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy, he played a handful of ramp shots against India’s pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, which set off tempers in the Indian camp.

Virat Kohli has already picked up a fine in the ongoing Border Gavaskar Trophy for a shoulder barge on the opener in the previous Test match. Then Jasprit Bumrah was involved in an argument in the final over of the first day of the current Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Now, day 2 has seen Yashasvi Jaiswal trying to sledge the Australian in the most hilarious way possible: in Hindi!

In the video posted on social media by the official broadcasters Jaiswal can be heard sledging the Australian teenager over the stump microphone.

“Oye Kontas (deliberately sounding like Qantas the Australian airlines rather than Konstas), kya ho gaya, ab shots nahi dikh rahe kya? Oye Kontas, shot nahi lag rahe kya abhi? (Hey, Konstas, what’s the matter? Can’t you see the ball? Hey Kontas, can’t you hit any shots?” Jaiswal shouted.

Konstas made his Test debut in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, where he had an instant impact after scoring 60 runs from 65 balls in the first innings.

But in the fifth Test at SCG, he could only score 23 runs after 38 balls in the middle before he edged a ball from
Mohammed Siraj to Jaiswal.
