IND vs AUS: Mohammed Siraj's temper got the better of him at Adelaide when he chucked the ball wide off the stumps near Marnus Labuschagne when the batter pulled away from his stance as the bowler was in the middle of his run up. The incident happened in the 25th over when Siraj was running in and Labuschagne caught a fan carrying a tower of glasses, also referred to as a beer sbake, came in his eyeline over the sight screen and then stepped away from the stumps. Siraj did not like that and threw the ball in frustration before both the players exchanged some words. After the day ended, however, Labuschagne would have the last laugh, staying unbeaten at 20 alongside Nathan McSweeney (38) as Australia posted 86/1 in reply to India's 180. • Man runs behind the sight screen with a beer snake • Marnus pulls away while Siraj is running in • Siraj is not happy All happening at Adelaide Oval 🫣 #AUSvIND pic.twitter.com/gRburjYhHg — 7Cricket (@7Cricket) December 6, 2024 This wasn't the first time that the two players had clashed in this series with both Siraj and Labuschagne having a war of words during the Test match at Perth as well. Recalling his fiery contest with Marnus Labuschagne, Siraj had said recently that the Australia No. 3 is not as confident a batter as he may appear to be at the crease. “I loved bowling to Marnus, enjoyed the battle because he plays under a lot of pressure. He tries to leave a lot of deliveries rather than trying to play at them. He defends and tries to show that he is confident. That is not really confidence. And my confidence is always high (laughs),” Siraj had light-heartedly told broadcaster Jatin Sapru in the presence of former India coach Ravi Shastri and Pakistan legend Wasim Akram in the 1st Test. In 12 Test innings, Siraj has dismissed Labuschagne thrice, averaging 41.66 per dismissal.
