Kolkata’s biggest concern will be their openers misfiring in 3 of their last 4 matches. Quinton de Kock has an unbeaten 97 against the Rajasthan Royals but hasn’t been able to replace Phil Salt. Sunil Narine, who was belligerent with the bat last season, also hasn’t fired on top of the order. It’ll be interesting to see how KKR line up in the LSG encounter with a possibility of Narine being shuffled down the order while youngster Angkrish Raghuvanshi is given the nod to open the innings. There can also be another change where KKR might opt to start with Rahmanullah Gurbaz instead of de Kock as Narine’s opening partner.
LSG, meanwhile, are coming into this match with captain Rishabh Pant in dismal form, scoring just 19 runs in 4 games. They might not change much in their team but might opt to use Aiden Markram’s allrounder abilities with the Proteas player expected to bowl a lot more in the expected slow pitch at Eden.
