India T20, ODI Squad for Australia Tour 2025 Announced: In a massive start to their next ODI World Cup preparations, Team India unveiled Test skipper Shubman Gill as the new ODI captain on Saturday, replacing Rohit Sharma ahead of the upcoming tour of Australia, starting October 19 in Perth. The 26-year-old Gill will be the 28th skipper for India in men's ODIs, with Shreyas Iyer taking charge as his deputy. Heavyweights Rohit and Virat Kohli will, however, mark their comeback in national colours for the first time in seven months as the BCCI national selection committee named the superstar duo for the three-match ODI leg of the white-ball tour. Chasing 252 in the final, Kohli was dismissed for one run while skipper Rohit headlined the summit clash with a swashbuckling 76 off 83 deliveries and adjudged the Player of the Match. Soon-to-be 37, Kohli remains as the highest active ODI run-scorer with 14,181 at 57.88 with a record 51 hundreds. Meanwhile, Rohit follows at second on the circuit with 11,168 runs, averaging 48.76 with 32 centuries. Dhruv Jurel in, Siraj returns; Asia Cup squad retained With Bumrah rested for the ODI leg of the tour, speedster Mohammed Siraj marked his return to the 50-over set-up after missing out on the Champions Trophy.
