A bunch of batting records were made on Manic Monday by Indian batsmen at Headingley. And they aren’t done yet. Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul also shared a 195-run partnership for the fourth wicket, which became the cornerstone of a strong fightback following Shubman Gill’s departure. Earlier, in the morning session, England exploited the liveliness in the pitch to trouble the India batters with pacer Brydon Carse getting rid of Gill for 8 runs.

Check out the stats:

5 – For the first time in Test history, India recorded five individual centuries in a Test. It is only the second such instance by a team in England after the hosts’ five hundreds against West Indies at Lord’s in 2007.

3 – KL Rahul became the first Asian opener to record three centuries in England, surpassing Sunil Gavaskar, Vijay Merchant, Rahul Dravid and Ravi Shastri who had two tons each.
