When Google revealed its annual Year in Search results for 2024, there were a few surprises in store. In its top 10 list of the most searched athletes in 2024 across the world, included Indian star cricketer Hardik Pandya and surprisingly Punjab Kings player Shashank Singh too was involved in the list.
In addition to the Indian cricketers Spain footballers who were part of the Euro-winning squad also made it into the top 10 list. The likes of Lamine Yamal, Nico Williams, and Rodri have cut. American Gymanist Simon Biles who made a comeback in 2024 with a gold in Paris took fourth place in the spot.
Imane Khelif, the Algerian boxer who was at the center of a gender row during her gold medal run at this year’s Paris Olympics took the top spot among trending searches. Mike Tyson and Jake Paul who did fight in a boxing match later won the game and took the number two and five spot respectively.
Scottie Scheffler was the lone golfer who made the list in the remaining spot.
