AUS vs SA 3rd T20I Highlights: Glenn Maxwell helps Australia beat South Africa by 2 wickets and win series 2-1

Well, that Rabada over did took the game back a bit in favour of Australia; however, Corbin Bosch came back and picked up two wickets. 10 required of the final over and it is still anyone's game, and Maxwell is on strike.

Glenn Maxwell has gone past his half-century here. There must be something in the way he thinks when it comes to situations such as these, where he pulls the games out of nowhere. While he is quite inconsistent, he is a genuine match-winner both with the bat and ball and is worth carrying especially in T20I sides.

Run-rate-wise, it is doable but can the bowlers come and support Glenn Maxwell? On paper, knowing Maxwell over the years these are the kind of situations he fancies and pulls the games out of the fire and he is on course to do another but will he find his Pat Cummins at the other end we have to see?

Two wickets for South Africa since our last update first it was Tim David who tried to work the ball on the leg-side got the leading edge and it carried straight to Rabada back and then Aaron Hardie chipped one straight back to Rabada that is two in quick time for South Africa since the powerply they have turned this game on its head.

South Africa is right back in this game at the moment. However, they need to get one of Glenn Maxwell or Tim David who can take this game away in no time. Maxwell especially, is quite an unpredictable player and just when things seem impossible, he puts on a show and we might see one today from him.

The young Maphaka has picked up the wicket of Mitchell Marsh here. It was a flick shot from the skipper and the fielder at square-leg took the catch. This is a massive wicket for South Africa under the circumstances they are chipping away at the Australians nicely here and pulling this game back.

Aiden Markam picks the wicket of Travis' head. Lungi Ngidi takes the catch, but the damage seems to be already done. Defending totals like these, South Africa needs to pick those early wickets; however, it did not happen today, hence they are paying the price. Jos Inglis has come into the middle, and a cameo from him will put South Africa completely out of the game. As we update Bosch picks Inglis

The ball's coming nicely onto the bat in this innings. There was a bit of unevenness in the first innings, but as the dew seems to be settling in, the wicket is getting better and better for batting. Ngidi has been introduced into the attack here. He will roll his arm over and use his slower ones here and test the batters.

Mitchell Marsh has got himself off to a bit of a start here. He is playing some lovely shots. Trying to replicate what Hazlewood did, the bowlers tried to hit back of a length however, as it often happens, the ball tends to sit up nicely as the innings progresses, and the ball is coming quite beautifully off the bat.

Kagiso Rabada took the first over. It might be a bit of not so not-so-popular thing Rabada seems to be in white-ball cricket lot more effective through the middle overs, like Pat Cummins, when the batters are trying to go after him instead of playing against the new ball and usually teams have tend to use him in that way.

It is a pretty chaseable total, and all it will take to get these runs is one good innings from either of the openers. David Warner was a master in chases like this. He would suck the run rate pressure out in the power play and then play normal cricket through the middle overs. We have to see if Marsh and Head can replicate something like that.

I've had a little bit of time with Brev in the IPL with Chennai. Know the talent that he has and rest of the side got to see that a couple of nights ago. We knew it was a big wicket, to see the back of him, it was a big moment. Very hard to contain, I feel like he's coming leaping and bounds, he seems a lot more confident, the last time we met. Hopefully they left a few out there. We didn't know what the wicket was going to be like. In the first few overs, it was doing a bit and then it felt like it got better. 180 felt like par.

That is a bit of a tame ending to the innings which promised a lot through the middle overs. It is a decent total considering the dimensions of the ground but not something Australia would lose their sleep over. A good powerplay of 60-70 for losing one or two this game is done and the way Australia approach their cricket doesn't put it out of them.

South Africa were looking good for 180, and they still might get there, but they did lose quite a bit of momentum going in that direction. The death bowling espically, has been quite brilliant from Australia. We have seen it in the earlier games, too, where they have completely closed the game in this phase.

Two wickets have fallen since our last update. First, it was Tristan Stubbs whose stumps were cleaned by Adam Zampa, and then Josh Hazlewood picked up the wicket of Corbin Bosch. Well, just when South Africa were in a bit of a difficult situation in the game and needed some sensible cricket, they are falling apart.

The platform for South Africa is set here. They are good to make around 190 easily, but for that, Stubbs needs to bat till the end. Nathan Ellis has been quite a canny bowler for Australia. Every time he has come into attack, he has managed to pull off a wicket, and he will be mighty hard to hit against in these final overs with variations.

Brevis has fallen here, and it is Nathan Ellis who got the breakthrough it was a slower bumper, although Brevis did seem like he had picked up his spot nicely. He ended up giving a catch to a long-off fielder, who was Glenn Maxwell. He ran and took a lovely catch. It is a bit of relief for Australia to get rid of Brevis.

Aaron Hardie has taken a pasting here from Brevis. It was a bit of nothing pace deliveries were offered up on a plate for him and he smacked the balls all over the park. Goodness, this is some of the cleanest hitting one would ever see. For a middle order batter to have the ability to score sixes and do it and make a substantial score, he is one of a kind is Brevis.

Brevis has got himself a start here. Although on paper South Africa has a formidable top four, it has been only Brevis who has shown his full potential in what he can do. Markram, especially, is an elegant player with the bat; however, things have not clicked as he would like them to in the ongoing series.

This has been a good start for South Africa. Brevis, since coming in has looked and played each ball on its merit. If anything, they would like to see Rickelton dominate the proceedings early on in the piece, and as we update, he is gone now. Trying to play an aggressive shot, he top-edged one, and Rickelton completed the simple catch.

Nathan Ellis has come into the attack and picked up the wicket of Preteroius. The ball was there to hit, and ideally in the power play. Preteroius should have hit it over the top; however, he managed to chip it straight to the infielder. South Africa has lost their second and centurion from the previous game, Dewald Brevis has walked in.

There is a bit of unusual bounce on this wicket compared to what we have seen at Darwin. The ball seems to be bouncing a little more from certain areas, and Josh Hazlewood, who is a master of hitting the hard lengths, has been able to get batters into trouble with his bounce. South Africa might look to assess what a good score on this surface should be.

Josh Hazlewood took the new ball, and he picked up the first wicket, and it was Aiden Markram. The batter tried to drive the ball on the up, which is a cardinal sin in this part of the world, especially when the seam is a bit prominent. The ball went straight to Green at first slip.

Both sets of players are out there in the middle. It does promise to be a good surface yet again, and we might have another cracker of a game. Mitchell Marsh has been quite canny with his bowling changes; one would expect more or less the same in this first innings here.

Probably would have batted. If we bat well, we can get ahead of the game. It looks quite nice, we'll assess after the first couple of balls. Muthusamy comes in for Peter.

We are going to bowl first. Cairns is a pretty part of Australia. As a whole, just making good decisions for 240 balls. Ellis, Inglis and Hardie come in.

"It's such a hard team to crack into. I'll be trying to take my opportunity when it comes."

But there'll be occasions when you feel the pitch might be on the slower side or might offer something and you take that punt. But the other way I try to operate is to go on my gut feel, run with that and reflect on what could and should have been after the game."
