Nepal's Dipendra Singh Airee on Wednesday scored fastest fifty in the T20 cricket in just nine balls to break Yuvraj Singh's 16-year-old record made in the 2007 T20 World Cup against England. Dipendra remained unbeaten on 52 off 10 balls, his knock was studded with eight sixes. In the group match of the ongoing Asian Games, Nepal put on a massive total of 314/3 against Mongolia. In reply, Mongolia were all out for 41 in reply as Nepal claimed an emphatic 273-run victory. Kushal Malla, who smashed an unbeaten century in just 34 balls, became the first cricketer from Nepal to score a ton in the T20 Cricket. Kushal Malla borke the record for the fastest men's T20I century held previously by a trio of players including India captain Rohit Sharma. Malla took just 34 deliveries to reach his century in Hangzhou, surpassing the 35-ball efforts of Rohit and David Miller from 2017 and Sudesh Wickramasekara in 2019 After being put into bat first by Mongolia, Nepal had a relatively slow start. Malla (137 not out off 50b' 8x4, 12x6) and skipper Rohit Paudel (61 off 27b; 2x4, 6x6) put on 193 runs for the third wicket in just 65 balls. Paudel got out on the first ball of the 19th over. With eleven balls left in the match, Dipendra new to crease played ten out of them and created history. Nepal smashed a total of 26 sixes during their impressive innings, with 12 of those maximums coming from the bat of Malla and a further eight from Dipendra Singh Airee. For Mongolia, Luvsanzundui Erdenebulgan (1/47), Davaasuren Jamyansuren (1/60), Mungun Altankhuyag (1/55) shared a wicket apiece.
