Former Indian selector MSK Prasad lauded Tilak Varma after his impressive outings thus far against the West Indies in the ongoing T20I series. Varma scored his maiden T20I half-century in the second match of the series and had an impressive performance in the remaining two games. "Look at his List A record for Hyderabad. He has played 25 List A games and has an average of 55 plus. Five hundreds and five half-centuries. It means at least 50 per cent times he is converting fifties into hundreds. A strike rate of 100 plus," MSK Prasad told PTI. Varma on Tuesday built an 87-run stand with vice-captain Suryakumar Yadav to help India win the first game of the T20I leg and keep the five-match series alive at 2-1. He has impressed everyone with his batting technique, temperament and composure. With Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul yet to prove their fitness for the upcoming Asia Cup and 50-Over World Cup, fans and a few former cricketers have shouted to include Verma in the squad for those showpiece events. "It won't be a bad idea provided Shreyas (Iyer) can't make it. Only then can you think of Varma. But I am sure he will be a white ball regular for India across formats going forward," MSK Prasad added. The young left-hander, in 25 List A games, has scored 1236 runs at an average of 56.18.
