

Mixed day for Indian shuttlers at French Open Super Series as Kidambi Srikanth booked a place in the men’s singles final while HS Prannoy, PV Sindhu crashed out after losing their respective semis contest. Prannoy was up against Srikanth in an all-Indian semi-final clash and the shuttler did well to win the opening game 21-14. Srikanth showed his class in the next two as he sealed them 21-19, 21-18 to make it to his second consecutive Super Series final. Earlier, India’s PV Sindhu lost to Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi in the women’s singles semi-final. Sindhu was locked with Yamaguchi at 14-14 in the opening but the Japanese exploded after that and took seven points in that game to seal it 21-14 and added six more to open up a big 6-0 lead in the second. The final scoreline read 21-14, 21-9 in Yamaguchi’s favour.
