Ace Indian shuttler PV Sindhu has dropped two places in Tuesday's recently released rankings by the Badminton World Federation (BWF). Double Olympic medalist Sindhu dropped from world number 13 to world number 15 after she pulled out of the Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships earlier this month due to a niggle. Sindhu has just played two tournaments in 2025, reaching the quarter-finals at the India Open Super 750 and losing in the first round of the Indonesia Masters Super 500. Another Indian female shuttler, Malvika Bansod, jumped three places to world number 28, entering the world top 30. In the men's doubles, Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty stayed at world number seven despite not featuring as a pair in the BAMTC. The Indian pair had a good start to the year with consecutive semi-final finishes in the Malaysia Open and India Open. Working under new coach Tan Kim Her, the Indian duo is looking at a huge season with the All England Badminton Championships and World Championships. Lakshya Sen remained India's top shuttler in the men's singles staying at world number 10. HS Prannoy remained India's number two with world rank 31. Sathish Kumar Karunakaran jumped two places after a good show at the BAMTC and is placed at world number 46 now. The mixed doubles pair of Dhruv Kaipl and Tanisha Crasto has jumped seven places to enter the world's top 30 in the category and ranked world number 30. They also become the top mixed doubles pair in the country. In the women's doubles, Gayatri Gopichand and Treesa Jolly are the top Indian pair placed at world number 9. The Indian shuttlers will be in action as the European leg of BWF Circuit kicks off on 25th Februrary with the German Open Super 300 tournament.
