Citing vagueness, the Bombay High Court has struck down the Centre’s Fact Checking Units for social media that had been envisioned in the amended IT Rules (2023). You can read more about the judgment here, but it seems there is no better time to be mulling over how blurred the lines have become between what sounds real, what is real, and what is okay to be perceived as real without any moral implications these days. 

Lowering quality thresholds for the ‘greater good’ of AI will continue to shake this dangerous tree, the rotten apples of human bias now ripe for the picking.
