Orator Nitin Bangude Patil robbed

An offence has been registered at the Rajgad police station.

Noted orator Nitin Bangude Patil was robbed of cash and valuables worth Rs 1.09 lakh by two unidentified persons on Monday evening,when he was going to Satara after attending a programme in Pimpri-Chinchwad. An offence has been registered at the Rajgad police station.

According to the police,Bangude Patil had come to Pimpri-Chinchwad for an oratory programme. After the event,he left for Satara in his four-wheeler. On reaching Shindewadi,two persons on a motorcycle allegedly intercepted him. Bangude Patil said the duo carrying a wooden baton allegedly thrashed his driver,claiming that he was fleeing after an accident.

Later,one of the men allegedly took charge of the steering wheel and drove to Khadakwasla area where they robbed Bangude Patil of his gold rings,three cellphones and Rs 25,000 cash and fled.

In another incident,four persons on two motorcycles allegedly intercepted another motorcycle rider Cyrus Fernandes at Tukaram Nagar,Kharadi,around 11 pm on Sunday. They allegedly accused him also of causing an accident. They later beat him and robbed him of his valuables worth Rs 11,600. Fernandes lodged a complaint at the Yerawada police station.
