Sadhu Yadav, the bother-in-law of RJD president Lalu Prasad, has hinted that he may contest against his sister Rabri Devi in Saran Lok Sabha seat. Long been deserted by Lalu and dumped by the Congress for praising Narendra Modi, the former MP from Gopalganj was not even welcomed by the BJP. Though Sadhu has not yet formally announced that he would contest against sister Rabri, sources see it as his ploy to “get back to RJD fold by trying to put pressure” on Lalu, who cannot afford to lose Saran seat. After winning Gopalganj seat as RJD nominee in 2004, Sadhu fell out of RJD chief in 2009 when Lalu did not give him ticket. He shifted to Congress and unsuccessfully contested from West Champaran. However, after he termed Narendra Modi a “better PM material than Rahul Gandhi” during his Gujarat trip last year, Congress expelled him. But at the same time, the BJP leadership was strongly-opposed to his entry in the party despite Modi praise. “Sadhu Yadav also tried his luck with Upendra Kushwaha’s Rashtriya Lok Samata Party, but could not succeed. He is not left with not much options. In all probabilities, he would not contest against his sister. He only wants to come back,” a source close to Lalu said. Lalu, however, has made it clear that “the door had long been closed for Sadhu in the RJD”.
