Jaswant sets up 6 sub-committees of PAC

Jaswant Singh has constituted six Sub-Committees to look into various issues including implementation of the NREGA and the Mid-Day Meals scheme.

Unfazed by BJP’s demand for his removal as Chairman of Public Accounts Committee (PAC),Jaswant Singh has constituted six Sub-Committees to look into various issues including implementation of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) and the Mid-Day Meals scheme.

Besides going into the implementation of NREGA,one of the sub-committees headed by him,will examine the issues “of undue favour to vendor in acquisition of submarines” and Notional Programme for Nutritional Support to Primary Education (Mid-Day Meals Scheme).

Other issues that would come up for scrutiny are Special Economic Zones,Freight and Wagon Management on Indian Railways and Assistance to States for Developing Export Infrastructure and Allied Activities Scheme (ASIDE).

Non-Compliance by Ministries/Departments in timely submission of replies to the Audit Paragraphs of the Comptroller and Auditor General and Public Private Partnership and Procurement of Medicines and Medical Equipment are the other two issues that would be taken up by the sub-committees.
