Assam Governor Syed Sibtey Razi ruled out resignation from the post and dismissed as “absolutely false” reports that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has asked him to resign from the post in the wake of raids on two of his aides when he was Governor of Jharkhand.

“I am not going to resign. I was Governor,I am a Governor and will be Governor till October (when his term ends),” he told reporters after meeting Home Minister P Chidambaram.

“It is all false. There is no allegation. Whatever has come in the newspapers are all false,” Razi said earlier when asked about reports of corruption in the Raj Bhavan when he was in Jharkhand.

Asked whether he would be completing his term, which is coming to an end in October,he said he would complete his term as Governor of Assam.

AICC General Secretary Janardhan Dwivedi also expressed ignorance about any controversy involving the Governor. “We are not aware of any such thing”,he said.
