Digvijay injured,Cong demands judicial probe

The Leader of the Opposition in the MP Assembly Jamuna Devi and senior Congress leader Manak Agrawal demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident at Rajgarh in which Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh was injured.

The Leader of the Opposition in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly Jamuna Devi and senior Congress leader Manak Agrawal today demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident at Rajgarh in which Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh was injured.

In a joint statement,the two said that there was no way in which such an incident can be allowed to happen.

Congress General Secretary Singh,alongwith party workers were protested against the state government’s failure to provide uniterrupted power supply in the state.

Singh alongwith party MLA and workers who wanated to present a memorandum to the district collector were allegedly manhandled by police personnel,on which the Congress workers pelted stones and to control the irrated mob the policemen resorted to lathi charge and also fired rounds in the air.

Singh got minor injury on his forehead and was ruhsed to the neraby hospital in Rajgarh.

They said that the incident would have serious repercussions and added that the state government should now be ready to face its consequences.
