CPI-M backed CITU-sponsored strike in WB against Fuel Price rise

Public transport went off the roads in the city today following a call given by CPI-M backed trade union CITU to protest hike in prices of petrol,diesel,kerosene and cooking gas.

Public transport went off the roads in the city today following a call given by CPI-M backed trade union CITU to protest hike in prices of petrol,diesel,kerosene and cooking gas.

Buses,trams,minibuses and taxis did not ply in view of the 24-hour state-wide transport strike though Metro services were normal.

Train have been exempted from the purview of the strike,Eastern Railway sources said.

Flights were also normal at the Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport here,airport sources said.
