After FIR, JD(U) MLA denies extortion charge

The MLA also said that he was open to an inquiry by the police and would “leave the country if he was found guilty”.

Following a complaint of extortion by a Patna-based businessman, Anant Singh, a JD(U) MLA from Mokama, said in a press conference Wednesday that he was only trying to recover the money he gave to the businessman. The MLA also said that he was open to an inquiry by the police and would “leave the country if he was found guilty”. “I had given Rs 10 crore to Raju Singh (the complainant’s brother) to purchase a plot in Patna. My people had gone to ask for the money. Raju’s mother had also assured me that she will tell me his whereabouts,” Singh said.     ENS
