“The 20th century belonged to the Western world. We will ensure that the 21st century belongs to India,” Advani said while accompanied with Chief minister Narendra Modi at a public function to open the party’s office in Gandhinagar.

“I had written a letter to the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh when this matter came to my notice, asking him to enquire about it. However,i was only given a formal reply,” the 81-year-old BJP candidate from this Parliamentary seat said.

Speaking further on the black money issue,Advani said,”This task can only be accomplished by a government which has the support of the people of India. Only NDA administration,be it in the Centre or in the states, has delivered and has the support of its people.”

He also mentioned how the German government pressurised the country where the banks are situated to give the list of people who have deposited money with them. This list was given to them and the Germans have told any country interested that they could avail the list from them free of cost, the four time MP from Gandhinagar said.

Pointing out that there was similarity between people of people living in states like Gujarat,Madhya Pradesh,Chattisgarh and Bihar,Advani said that the common factor was that they were all happy with their government.

He said that in the BJP manifesto there was a promise to deliver three things – infrastructure, development and security to the people of the nation – with special focus on country’s farmers and soldiers.

Advani also dismissed apprehensions about the implementation of promises made in its poll manifesto.

“Everybody has been raising doubt about the availability of money and resources for fulfilling the promises in our manifesto. However,I would like to assure them that there will not be any resource constraints as long as the programmes are for the benefit of the country,” he said.

The BJP leader said that similar apprehensions were raised when his party thought of the golden quadrilateral project. “But it is a reality today”,he added.

“All asked me from where money will come…”,said Advani. “I want to assure them whatever money and resource is required, there will be no shortage”,he said. Modi,in his turn assured Advani that he need not campaign in Gandhinagar, implying that BJP workers will take care of all the election work even in his absence.

“Advani can come on the day of election on April 30 and just cast his vote”,he added.
